Giving is not a given, it's a learned skill.
We set out to make a camera that would help lift the weight of approaching someone by gifting the receipt of that moment you captured . A simple act of kindness such as gifting a photo of someone to them changes the dynamics completely.
We engraved the answer to our "WHY" to the core of DA1 Camera. It may not be visible from the outside but we wanted to make sure it has a heart and a soul from the inside out. DA1 says "SMILE to its subject infront of its lens and "Stay in the Moment" to the person taking the photo.
Two designers and gatherers
who wanted to make a camera that feels less like tech and more like a reason to connect people. No screens, no apps, no pressure — just a tiny machine for all the blurry little moments worth keeping.
Stay in the Moment
We create experiences that pull you away from the screen and bring you back to the people, places and moments right in front of you.
Make Things Together
Creativity is better when you can share it, pass it around and turn it into something no one could have made alone.
Keep It Simple
We remove unnecessary technology so everything feels intuitive, playful and ready from the first click.
Make Joy Accessible
Good design should feel special without feeling exclusive, so we create thoughtful tools you can use freely, often and your own way.
Where our stars aligned
Over the years, we came to understand what motivates us most: creating environments where people can gather, connect and feel like they belong.
In the past decade, we have brought together more than 10,000 people through the experiences and communities we have created. We have watched strangers become friends, conversations turn into collaborations and simple gatherings grow into something much more meaningful. We knew we could spend our lives doing this—but we began to wonder whether it could also become our next chapter.
The other thing we have always loved is design: imagining ideas, building physical objects and bringing something new into the world. With Twogather, we set ourselves a simple rule: we would only create things that encourage people to engage with one another in physical space first.
As creators, we naturally gravitated toward an instant camera. A camera can start a conversation, bring people closer and turn a fleeting interaction into something you can hold, share or give away.
We made the first drawings, built the first 3D-printed prototype and took it out into the streets. We handed it to strangers, watched how they used it and saw how quickly the camera became more than a device. People laughed, posed, wrote on the prints, exchanged them and began talking to one another.
That first prototype became DA1: a simple, screen-free camera designed not just to capture a moment, but to help create one.
